THE ROAD AHEAD

THE ROAD AHEAD

The road ahead is windy and winding
And sunny and long and promising
If I promise you I'll wheel it away,
will you go with me, will you stay?

You have sturdy boots, I have wheels
Your blisters, yes? I know how that feels!
But put your backpack on my chair
Just a few more miles and we're there.

If you promise to stay, sit, if you will,
on my lap, I'll ride us down that hill
In warp speed, through flowers and trees,
Sun, wind in our hair, everyone sees

The love in my green eyes, the kiss I give
I beam while you hold me. I finally live!
