For Polin - MENOPAUSE
Sitting in the shade of my old tree
Watching distant freighters pass me by
While the sun is heading to the sea
I cried a bit, but now my eyes are dry
How fitting is this landscape where I sit
The tree in autumn colours fiery red
The sun in evening orange slowly lit
The grass, the river, and my tired head
But I refuse to see this as a nearing end
Perhaps it's time to let the colour in
No longer green, but every painted blend
I stand and scream it out: I win, I win!
And scream again at the wild sea:
I am still me
I am still me
I.AM.STILL.ME!
