We All Have Our Flaws
In halting motion, sunlight shadows on the walls
Your fingers comb my hair, my lion's manes.
I roar in secrecy, for I know you'll open my tunic next.
I fixate my eyes on your strong fingers
Pleasant and incessant coinciding,
And mumble words of dismay and longing.
How I wish you would not do this
And omit my shirt and all the rest
My body is my expressive head alone
And perhaps my artistic hands...
But that is all.
In grief-stricken words I try to stop you, with dancing
sundust around my breath. You smile your gentle smile:
"We all have our flaws my love", you say, "we all
have those scratches and bruises where we bumped
They are just scars, that's all
You are more than just hands and head
You are heart and love and completeness
Like I am, just like we all are."
