For Deeze and Ahmad - CATS

Haughty, looking down at you with disdain

Whenever you crave some attention

Their own sufficient source of affection

And when they like it they maintain

Their distance, infuriating

Unbefitting

But when you give up hope, there is that

Warm little body snuggling close

Over your shoulder, belly, legs, toes

You're their own, personal, doormat

But so sweet and purring

Unbecoming

Sometimes you think that they don't care

But that one day you don't feel well

Your cat, formerly cat from hell,

Acts like he is suddenly aware

Caring and warming

Unifying

Admit that your affectionate complaining

Just means you love unconditionally

And you just pretend that you don't see

Their loveliness and furriness unfolding

And hear heart warming

Meowing
