SUN on the SEA

"Sunlight on the water"

I love to be on the beach
But not during daytime
when tourists flock the coastline
and swarm the sand with towels
and sunscreen

I wait till their cars leave
till they leave tin cans and plastic bags
sand castles and pits
I wait till they leave
And then I breathe in deeply

I walk along the shore
Watching intently
Seeing the sun slowly sink
How the waves colour red
Or slightly orange

Sunlight on the water
Peace in my heart
Love for this surroundings
I capture this forever
in my being.
