SOMETHING INSIDE SO STRONG

Accompanying music: Labi Siffre
It is 'my' song. I listen to it every day when I can't handle life.

SOMETHING INSIDE SO STRONG

Slowly maneuvering, winding wheels
Watching masses of backs, no air no stars
But legs and arms
No faces, no smiles
Only moving meandering between them
Want to break them down
Want to yell at them
Want to kick them
Scream
SEE ME!!!

Moving through them like slick oil
Like water split by Moses
They move when they see me
But they don’t see me
They don’t look.
But I am here and I move between you
Among you
Don’t overlook me! I will
Kick you
Yell at you
Break you down
Scream at you!
HEAR ME!
HERE I AM!

I am a shining star, I will light your way
Will you be mine, or will you turn off the light?
I will win, you know
You never saw me but I will make you see
I will look you straight in the eye and smile at you
And say: “Good morning”.
That is my yell and scream
Try to resist that!
I will say: “How are you”.
Until you see me and reply.
I am strong.
Are you?
Close your eyes, see those little stars
You are one
And so am I
We are not so different.

  1. The story is the teacher and its tellers are the stars! Each star in the same story, only from a different point of view! Inca means the children of the stars! I loved your poem very much, Darren.

    1. I strongly believe that by being a star, you eventually shine your light on others, and make them a little brighter. Thank you for loving my poem, Budgie :)
