OUR DRAGONS
Are all around us
Not the fairy tale kind with the beautiful colours
Or the sweet demeanour
Our dragons
Try to beat us
With flaming tongue
And thundering roar
And display of power
Our dragons
Think they rule the world
With careless dismissal
Of our needs
With curt ignoring
Of our existence
Our dragons
Turn straw and hay
Into gold
And sit on it protective and possessive
Without sharing
Our dragons
Think they are unbeatable
But they are individuals
They forget, our strength
Is in numbers and love
And in being together
We can beat our dragons
By exposing them
And taking away their gold
And their power
Because it is hollow
We can beat our dragons
By loving and by sticking together
Close together
