THOSE DAYS

THOSE DAYS

This here reminds me so much of the times
we raced downhill. Sun in our face
Wind in our backs
Yelling and screaming.

The hours spent in the shed with
hammers nails wood wheels
splinters, blood and band-aids
And our first stolen kisses

Dragging each other uphill again
Pushing and pulling, sending
each other downhill high speed
Screaming and falling and quarreling

All the way downhill to collect
broken carts and dreams
Those days... How I long to kiss
your lips and feel our bodies bloom

For the first time. Those days
When you still loved me while
I loved you as my first love
But you loved me as a friend
