LAST CONVERSATION
I look at your pathetic form
And say:
“Will you just look at me?
Just look at me and see me?
See me for once in my life?
My life wasn’t mine but yours.”
The silence bouncing of the walls
Reverberating in my ears
And brain
And then you say:
“There’s nothing I can say
I say nothing you want to hear
You hear only what you want
I want you to go
Go and never return
If you return I will end you
End you as I should have.
I should have ended you.”
I ride my chair outside the room
And guards unlock the door
I go.
The conversation in my head
Was nothing compared
To what you said
Did I expect “sorry”?
